military mission

The Fuhrer Kurt Meyer had given us a mission to infiltrate Drachma and to gain information regarding the planned attack on Amestris. To avoid such attack we should get the documents regarding the plans on attacking Amestris.

The Fuhrer Kurt Meyer is counting on us.
Rules:

* Only those in the Military are allowed to join.
* Each member must post at least ten times before the mission is over.
* Each post must consist of at least one hundred (100) words.
* Every three posts, a new obstacle must be added to your mission.

This is a mission between Keixth and Zayden.

[Lets do it ]

Zayden stared out over the base in the distance, the wind whipping savagely at his military garb and hair. He balled his hands into fist. He was ready for this.

Their mission was simple. Gain access into the area and obtain the sensitive documents. Zayden was not necessarily a very brave individual but he was confident enough in his abilities to be able to complete his part of the mission. Zayden had merely been sent in because the commander knew that he'd be able to get what they needed.

The actual "infiltration", however, terrified the young boy. He sucked at stealth, he lacked severely in combat and he hated to shoot at people. His intellect was the only real quality to marvel at. When put into a sticky situation, he reasoned and thought up the more logical approach. But in fast and tedious circumstances, his brain was always his worst enemy.

Zayden hoped that the man he had been teamed up with was much better at he with fighting. He turned to look at his teammate beside him. Up until today, he hadn't come into contact with the man who, if he remembered correctly, was named Keixth Chien.

Keixth stared at the mission folder that they have been given. Sure the mission is easy if you take away those heavy armed gaurds and a military base.
He looked at the base taht they were gonna infiltrate. and contemplated about his problem.

The problem is that he has no sense of direction. He hopes that luck is on his side today and would not burden his teammate.

Sure he had his double guns and alchemy to back him up but it would take longer if they got lost so it's up to him to take this much more seriously.

He fixed his guns and his clothes and got ready for the mission. He looked at his partner, Zayden whom he met only now for a signal that he's good to go too. After this mission he would gladly converse with his mission partner to be able to know him more but now its only about the mission.

Zayden hesitate for a moment, weighing the consequences of this mission. Either they got the information and got out or they entered the base and never returned. It was, quite literally, a life or death situation.

Finally, he decided to make the first move. If only to break the feeling of gloom and doom in the air. "Shall we?" He motioned towards their objective. "It would be better to try and get this over with as soon as possible." He muttered as an afterthought, biting his lower lip.

"I figure we get a little closer to scout out all the entrances and exits and then we can devise some sort of plan to get in." Zayden suggested, mentally calculating the distance they were from the base.

"It would be better if we did this fast" Keixth said anxious of what will happen in this mission.

He took out his telescope and scanned the area.
"well on the front we have four guards guarding it and by the top they have 2 gunmen in watch. two towers with headlights." Keixth stated.

He then turned to his partner and said "this is gonna be tough. we should try moving to the back if we can see any openings. If we dont see any our last chance is to use alchemy to make a distraction or such."

Keixth thought that if they could only have a map of Drachma's base it would be easier to plan it all out. . . but then again. . . acquiring Drachma's base map is hard enough.

[We're suppose to have some sort obstacle! :O Like, every third post.]

"Good idea." Zayden nodded excitedly. "We can sneak around the back." He started forward, planning to begin scaling along the base to the back when he heard a sound. It was faint and he was almost convinced that it was simply his imagination until he heard the unmistakable sound of a gun cocking back.

"Duck!" He shouted out to his partner before dropping to the ground and covering his head. He heard the spray of gunfire and crawled to get behind some rocks for cover, praying that Keixth did the same.

Snipers. They have to be snipers. Or maybe they're just scouts patrolling the area.

They would need to take these guys out first before they raised an alarm and had the entire base coming after them.

[ WAHH!!. . . SORRY. . . I forgot. . demmit. . . ]

Keixth heard gunshots fired at them and
He quickly ducked behind the rock for his safety. As dying wasn't in his list yet.
He hopes that his partner is safe as well.
"have they spotted us?" Keixth murmured.
"well that was fast. we have to be careful now" Keixth said beginning to sound serious.

He peeked through the rock he has hiding and scouted the perimeters for snipers and such with his telescope.

He saw the headlights pass by them and he ducked once again. . maybe it was those headlights. We need to stealthy at this point.

He then pointed out to his partner that they have to dodge those headlights scouting the perimeters.

Zayden nodded at Keixth's signal, understanding what he meant.

Well, they already know we're here....

He motioned towards the base and then pointed off to the left, indicating the back.

"Let's go." He mouthed wordlessly to his partner before slinking off into the dark. He dodged and crawled and spun his way around the lights, sometimes coming too close to the lights. Whenever that happened, his heart would increase its speed dramatically and he would feel like he would explode.

Zayden finally came to a stop around the back entrance to the base. He could no longer hear any more gun fire and he couldn't make out any figures lurking about.

Hm. No one's guarding the door....Either it's a trap or they all ran off to try and find us.

"Should we try the door?" He whispered to Keixth.

Keixth looked over his partner and got his signal to go.

He crawled and he did all he could just to be stealthy.
Dodged the lights as they passed by. Even hiding in trees our bushes could be helpful sometimes even a rock.

Keixth stopped in front of a door. "hmm. . I'm guessing it's a trap. they just can't abandon this*points to the door* out in the open. But what could happen if we didn't try"

He drew an alchemic symbol on the door and touched it.
and when it sparked. Keixth suddenly fell on the ground.

He turned to his partner and said. "if we open that door. . there's gonna be a big firework gonna happen"

Zayden nodded, he thought as much. "Is there a way to open the door at a safe distance?" He questioned, crouching down beside Keixth. While they spoke, his eyes wandered around. He couldn't hear any footsteps but that didn't mean they were alone.

Then, he heard a faint yipping noise. He froze for a second before pulling out big, weird looking goggles. He slid them over his eyes and stared out into the night.

"Uh....Keixth?" Zayden's voice was high pitched and scratchy, terror creeping in. "I think we have a problem."

In the distance, far enough away to give them time to avoid an attack but close enough to see how large they were, Zayden could see the outline of a dozen or so large, possibly mutated animals. They weren't an exact type of animal but the closest resemblance would have to be a dog.

They sent out dog...beasts?!

He handed Keixth the goggles - the ones he had specially made by himself - to see. "I think we should take our chances with the door."

Well there is a way. He then started patting the door. . . every corner every inch. As if he was looking for something.
he then heard zayden call him.

Keixth glanced at what Zayden was pointing out.
then he saw it too. mutated dogs or more like chimeras. . .
He panicked but he found what he was looking for and marked it with his chalk.

and Keixth said "Zayden Duck!" He pulled out his gun and aimed at the mark and shot it. The door began to disintegrate. Leaving an opening to the entrance.

He then called the attention of his partner and told him to run.

Zayden was one step behind Keixth as they ran through the opening and into the base. He pulled to a stop and grabbed a hold of the other boy's shoulder to slow him down as well. He pointed.

"They're searching for us."

In the dark, lights bounced up and down, followed by heavy footsteps and shouts and exclamations. He motioned Keixth to follow as he tip toed to the side, away from the oncoming Chimeras and soldiers.

"That file you have? It has all the key points and things right? Did it happen to give the location or title of the building where the information is being stored?" He whispered, keeping his voice dangerously low.

Keixth then slowed down when zayden pulled them into a stop and hid on the shadows.

He then saw soldiers and chimera's searching for someone. . and than someone was them.
"yeah you're right"

Keixth took out the mission file and examined it.
He then said that "The documents that we need to retrieve is at the top flr. command center.

and it said we have to watch out for the chimeras. They're pretty dangerous."

"The easiest way to go there is maybe we could sneak into the air vent?" Keixth thought as they cant go walking around with chimeras around the entire base of Drachma.

"Air vent?"

Zayden held back a groan. He hated cramped and small spaces. But, it was the only way when it all boiled down to it. With great reluctance, the boy nodded his understanding. "Sounds like our only way in." He poked his head out to see that their enemies were still prowling around. He silently slid back into place.

"The command center is probably the biggest building. Because it would need to house all the important items. It's probably conspicuous." He slid back on his glasses and checked around. The largest building he could make out was located in the center of the area. There was no clear way to get to it without being spotted or, possibly, mauled.

He turned to Keixth with a pained expression. "Run for it?"

"Yeah air vent most quickest and convenient way to escape some enemies." Keixth stated.

"the command center may as well be the most tightest security in the whole place though. so we have to be on guard." Keixth said.

Figuring out what could possibly happen in the command center. they may be needed of a back up plan or some sort.

He heard zayden said "run for it?" and of course Keixth agreed. and so when some of the soldiers passed by they ran for their lives.

But then a Chimera spotted them. It looked like a Boar with a mane of a lion. with horse legs.

Keixth glanced at his partner and said. "We have a problem"

Zayden didn't like the sound of that.

The Chimera that had spotted them was too large to run past, as it blocked their path to the command center. It was huge and terrifying.

He slid to a stop and instinctively backed up. "That's a big one." He muttered, pulling out his gun. He took aim, shot and the bullet ricocheted off the creature and was lost in the night. He then quickly drew a circle in the ground, placing his hands down on it. He was rewarded with nothing more but a few sparks. Nothing that could do any harm.

Oh jeez....

Zayden turned to Keixth. "Your turn." He said sarcastically, feeling weak and useless.

Keixth watched as the bullets that Zayden shot just whizzed by the chimera even alchemy has no match. .

"Oh boy. . this is gonna be tough. . . "keixth said.

Keixth ran towards the chimera. . and jumped to the back and kicked the chimeras back. the chimera fell forward. but the tail swished to keixths direction.

It hit him and keixth went slamming into the wall. . .

keixth coughed. "aww. . man. ." He dusted him self and regained his self.

The chimera stood up once again facing him. Anger in its eyes.

Keixth looked at his partner and said "shoot its legs while i distract it!"

Zayden did as told, shooting both a flash of his alchemy and gun at the thing's legs while Keixth went about fighting it hand to hand. It would sway one way to attack Zayden and then back again to attack the other man. Obviously, it could not handle them together.

"We're wearing it down!" Zayden called, continuing to shoot. Sirens had begun to blare throughout the compound and there was sure to be a barrage of soldiers coming to take them down for good.

"We gotta make this one count!" He shouted out. "We need to get it out of the way and run for the command center!"

With that being said, Zayden unleashed his most powerful surge of electricity towards the Chimera.

As keixth noticed the Chimera started slowing down.

and Heard the sirens go off he saw zayden shot out electricity towards the chimera as keixth pulled out his double guns and started blasting the chimera right on his chest.

The chimera lolled his eyes back as a sign he was either exhausted or dead for good.
Maybe it was the force that the two used.

Keixth shouted at zayden "Let's run for it! they might catch us" He started running along the corridor.

He then went left at the dark corner as he saw an air vent up it's ceiling.

Zayden followed after as the giant Chimera slammed down onto the ground and lay still behind them. Ironically, it blocked the path again so the resistant soldiers who were just now showing up could not chase after them.

He smiled to himself and turned back to see Keixth turn a corner. He skirted behind him and saw the air vent. It was on the ceiling, leading into the command center.

"They probably won't be stalled for long." He stated. "So lets get in. It'll take a few minutes for me to transfer the information in there files onto my disk but we should have those minutes to spare. Then we can figure out how to get out later."

He looked up the ceiling and transmutated a ladder leading to the air vent. He turned towards Zayden and said

"well then shall we?" keixth said "while those soldiers figure out how to get pass by that monster we should be going"

Keixth entered the air vent. coughing by the dustiness of the inside but this was the only way they could go to the command center.

They crawled along the vents until they saw a sign through the vent that said. Command center.

"wow. . how typical to have a sign plastered there" Keixth whispered.

and saw two armed soldiers gaurding the place. I thought this would be harder. . . having only two guards in this place. maybe it's a trap or some sort.

The tightness, dryness and dustiness of the vent made Zayden gag more than once but he continued to crawl on behind Keixth. He assured himself that he wouldn't be here long and they were close to done with this God awful mission.

"How typical indeed." He agreed in amusement. Did they really put a sign up?! Zayden peeked out to see the two guards. "Yes, probably a trap again. " He let his eyes wander around the room, trying to spot anything that had been set up to catch them or injure them in the room but he didn't see anything.

"You know, I think it's clear." He whispered. "I'm going in. Cover me."

When had I gotten so brave!?

With a swiftness he didn't know he had, Zayden kicked in the vent, jumped down and landed on top of one of the guards, instantly knocking him out. He was beginning to stand up and round on the other but there was something shoved into his face.

The other guard was holding something small and black with a red circle on it, his finger hovering over the circle.

Detonator.

"Move and I'll blow us all up." The guard growled angrily.

"how stupid can they be. . " Keixth sighed.

He then let zayden pass him as he was gonna take out the guards.

"Sure i'll back you up" Keixth whispered. "and be careful"

Keixth watched as zayden took care one of the guards but then another one just assaulted him from the back with a detonator at hand.

Shocked keixth calculated what he will do since the life of his partner is at hand.

He then took out one of his guns and directed it at the guards hand. Hoping this shot will aim at the remote or either just to get rid of the hindrance below him.

He shot the detonator and jumped down the vent and kicked the guard in the face.

Zayden watched the detonator fly out of the man's hand and Keixth jump down and lay the guard out flat. He caught the device before it hit the ground - just in case - and inspected it curiously. He then stuck it in his pocket.

"Better for us to have that then the enemy." He told his friend as a way of explanation. "Thanks for saving me too." He smiled. "I owe you."

Zayden stood up then and made himself comfortable in the seat that overlooked the large computer in the middle of the room. He cracked his knuckles and ran his fingers across the buttons. He pulled out the disk, stuck it into a slot and begun to type furiously.

"I'm going to transfer the files we need. But I'm going to have the bypass some of their locks. If all goes well, we should be out of here in no time."

As keixth kicked the guard down. He saw Zayden picked up the remote and put it in his pocket.

He thought maybe for a quick escape later on."We sure can use it. for threatening the enemy when were escaping." Keixth said. "and sure no prob that's what partners do" Keixth stood up and dusted himself.

They went inside the command center and saw a big computer. zayden began to go over the computer to transferring the files. "I'll guard the entrance just incase" Keixth said.

He Turned over to the camera screen and saw incoming soldiers.
"zayden, better make it quick we have some visitors coming our way" Keixth stated as he ran to the entrance to barricade it.
