Renee's little hideaway

Renee was playing with her hair a little.

"Heh..... must of taken..... months? No, years for my hair to..... uh.... grow this long, right?"

"Huh?" she blinked.

Renee giggled. "Perhaps I just need... relax? Silence? Sleep! I need sleep." Renee crawled into bed and closed her eyes, falling asleep instantly.

The scientist remained waiting.

She tucked her in and stood up. She went to the back door and looked for the scientist. "We can't..." she sighed. "We can't operate on her," she told herself. At this rate, her neurons will give out, and she'll be brain-dead. But if we don't do anything, she'll be in a permanent state of confusion and will eventually give out from the mental stress.

Kotaro was walking up from the Chimera HQ. There had been soldiers there who had daughters that wouldn't be able to see them again, and were glad to take care of Rose. Rose was just a little kid basically, and she seemed to love the 'Ani-People' going as far as helping an injured one. She is an animal person.

After leaving Rose with the soldiers he had gone to the cafe but noticed it was empty, so he decided to check here. As he walked up he saw Resha and a scientist. "What th-" He began to run.

Resha blinked when she realized something, after explaining her theories. She looked at the scientist. "I have an idea."

The scientist looked at her curiously. "What is it?"

She took a deep breath. "Brain transplant."

The scientist thought deep for a while. "That's... a good idea to an extent. Very much a troublesome process, however. And risky. Besides, it wouldn't work well - the images in her mind and the memories in the neuron will mess up. And it has never been done successfully."

She shook her head. "Her neurons are giving out. We'll need to replace them, add. I don't know - I can give her mine but, I just... want her to get well."

Dante ran up to Resha and the scientist. "Resha! Whats going on. Why is he here?" Dante knew a military scientist meant trouble. He just didn't know what type of trouble could be happening. "Is Maria ok?"

"Relax Kotaro" The scientist said plainly as he took a sip of tea he made. "We haven't done anything to Renee, yet. As Resha stated, Renee's neuron's are giving out. We might have to resort to a brain transplant, just so she doesn't go brain dead."

He took another sip. "If you don't believe me, discuss it with your family."

Dante looked at both of them. The scientist was calm, so he didn't think he meant Renee harm, but still. "Brain transplant?" Dante looked at the two, then paused on Resha. "Resha....your not thinking of......" He couldn't even finish the sentence. He looked at the scientist. "What is wrong with Renee? Why do you suggest something so drastic?"

"Go talk to her"

The scientist only said that, referring to Renee

Dante turned to the door. He paused a bit before opening the door and walking over to her. "Renee...?"

Renee opened her eyed and looked at Kotaro.

"Oh, hey, its.... Koro....? Komo....? Kot.....aro? Kotaro! Yeah! Hey Kotaro!"

Dante walked closer to her. She seemed out of it. "Renee, are you alright?" He stopped a few feet in front of her.

"Yeah, im good Kotaro ^^ Wait, thats not right. Dante? Right! YOUR Dante! You reminded me of someone else. He's........ my brother........ I think. Are we friends?"

Dante looked at her. Her memory.... "Renee, I am Kotaro, remember? We changed our names and looks." He pointed to her and him.

Renee looked at herself. "This is Maria! But im Renee! Am I Renee and Maria? And you are Kotaro? But your Dante! Wait, why am I dressed as Maria.....?"

Renee tried her best to remember. Too many memories were flying everywhere and disappearing.

She's lapsing. Dante shook his head. So this is why they want to.... "Your Renee and Maria. They are both the same. They are you and I am Dante and Kotaro." He placed a hand on her shoulder.

"This is too complicated!" Renee yelled, shaking her head.

"Im me, but yet not me, your you, yet not you, and I can't remember why we're not us!"

Dante sighed. He decided to approach it differently. "Brother, me, has two names. You, also have two names." He spoke as he would to Lira when she was young. "Brother just wants to see if sister is alright."

"Two names? Oh! I see, I think. and sister is ok. Just feels.... empty."

Dante nodded. At least she understood that. "Can brother help sister in any way?" He sat next to her.

She shook her head. "No, brother can't. Sister is broken. Can't remember. Not even you."

Dante sighed. "You remember I'm your brother." He put his arm around her. "You will remember everything. I know you will." He smiled.

She shook her head. "You refer to yourself as brother, so I follow along. I know nothing bout you. Or me"

Dante sighed. "Renee, there is a way I could show you who I am, but you would have to bear with me if I do." He looked at her, his expression serious. "If you want to learn more, you will have to use your...." He looked for a simple word. "Imagination."
