You need some sort of history. How he lost his memory, where he came from, if he has a permanent inability to remember anything, what he's done since he woke up with amnesia, etc. No being lazy and not making a history.

Either way, there needs to be some sort of history. He may not remember anything about his past, but there's still something there he remembers. At the very least waking up in the middle of Central in his underwear or something.
