Courthouse.

She shook her head. "Don't let him beat you."

Dante glanced at Resha. "He won't."

She nodded. "You can do it!"

Dante gave a smile, but it was only a wall. There's something missing. Something I keep seeing but never actually notice. But what? He looked at Resha. "They won't just let me free. There will be slight consequences." He looked away. "Resha, do you think you could determine the reason for the unstable alchemy I emit?"

"If they do, they'd be disobeying," she smiled. "And there will be consequences for that. I'm sure I don't have to elaborate but this is the military, teehee," she gestured. "This is an organization that the subordinates must follow the superiors without question. We follow the path of order and if one's going to destroy that balance, he'll have to be punished."

She thought for a while. "Sure, I can work on that."

Dante nodded. "But YOU have already unbalanced it before. I have unbalanced it. Even other military have unbalanced it and still remained unpunished."

Dante smiled. "Now we just got to think of how to fix it."

She smiled. "Not quite. Not at all," she said. "If it's fully unabalanced, the military would have collapsed already."

Resha grinned. "We'll find a way to mend it."

Dante nodded. "I guess your right then." He sighed and sat down. "All this is getting complicated."

She had to agree. Things really were becoming more and more complex; and the military was already complicated to begin with.

"But! For now, you're a free man. Let's rejoice in that."

Dante nodded. Although he knew it wouldn't be that way for long. "Your right, this is a surprise to me really, I expected at least having to run an 'errand' for them."

She smiled. "Well, to be honest, I didn't even expect that my big brother would let you free," she smiled apologetically. "Although, if his command is disobeyed, I'm pretty sure a lot will die. However," she paused for a while. "It is up to you. You'll have to hold your end of the bargain from that 'punishment'. Because when the time comes and big brother is the one who's pushed to go after you, Kotaro, I won't be able to help you at all."

Dante nodded. "You know me Resha, I won't stop till I figure it all out. If that time does come, I will fight back. If he kills me, so be it, but I won't hesitate to kill him if it comes down to it." He looked at her. "I hope it doesn't come down to that though."

He smiled and decided to change the subject. He didn't want to talk about death. "So why do you think I generate this unstable alchemy?"

"Sorry," she smiled. "As much as you are a dear friend of mine, I don't believe you can kill my brother." She smiled sadly. "Neither will I ever allow it to happen. Teehee~"

"Hmm!" she thought for a minute. "I'm not quite sure but if I have to theorize, I'd say it's because you're a different kind of clone, you know? Besides that, the way Garsher and I work on experiments are different and that could mess up the equilibrium. His is more extreme measures after all."

"Think what you may. Things can take unexpected turns. He's strong, but that doesn't mean I can't kill him." He frowned. "And I won't hesitate to defend myself from you if you help him."

Dante nodded. "A different kind of clone....But what could he have don to have this happen?" He scratched his chin. "Damn this is always so complicated."

Tosh and Takashi wandered into the room, seeing Dante and Resha. She smiled and ran over hugging Dante from behind exclaiming, "Kotaro!" in glee. Takashi just casually walked into the room, scratching the back of his head.

Dante felt arms go around him from behind and a familiar voice call his name. "Tosh!?" he said turning around. He heard Takashi and shook his head. Just great. He slapped himself in the head. "Court case.." Was all he said. He then motioned to Resha. "Takashi, this is Resha, a friend of mine. Resha, this is Takashi, Tosh's clone." He knew he would have to take some headache medicine after this.

"What are you two doing in the courthouse?"

She grinned. "Be as it may. Sorry, I really don't think you can kill him. And that's just fine, you don't need to hold back. You're strong but I think he's stronger. Of course, that's just my opinion."

Resha thought for a while. "I'll need to look more into it," she said. She looked at the newcomer and bowed. "Nice to meet you," she said. Erm, clone?

Dante nodded. "Just be aware that one of us, maybe both will die that day."

Dante sighed and held his head. Explaining this to Resha right after a trial...this is going to give me a migraine. His head was throbbing.

"I can never rule those out from a possibility. Either of you may die, maybe both, maybe none," she smiled. "I... just... don't... want any of you to die, especially not my brother."

“Resha, I never asked for any of this. I never asked to be cloned, turned into a weapon, or to kill out of cold blood. And I've done it all. I have enough sins that no matter how much I try, I won't be able to atone for them. The world isn't a fair place Resha. Equivalent exchange doesn't rule. The reason I do the foolish things you worry about is because I care. I want to go helping someone, not fighting. But I'm not going to stop until I figure out everything they are hiding.” He sighed. “If there is one thing I don't want, its to leave this world with my friends suffering. I lost more then anyone ever should.”

Dante moaned and held his head. “I got a headache now.”

She nodded quietly. She didn't want to argue now anyway. He has his point, she couldn't deny that. All she wanted was to keep wishing for the right thing the way things she believe would be better for everyone.

"I know. Sorry."

Dante shook his head. "Don't be sorry. You have nothing to be sorry about." He sat down, holding his head.

"Okay!" she grinned. "So I'll have the papers done for your release. Go and rest some in the infirmary, mmkay?"

Dante smiled back and nodded, standing up and walking toward the door. "Hopefully I won't always get you into these situations Resha." He said before walking out toward the infirmary.
