"Yes, it's convenient. Thank you."

He followed again, walking this time as he pocketed his hands. "Third wall on the left wing," he replied as he waited. He was not about to disturb a professional at work, after all.

"Yes, wall," he said again, before he confused her. "The door is camouflaged though."

"A camo door?? How fancy," she said with her ear pressed to the door once more.

She heard footsteps. Waiting until they were just past her, she flung the door open, hitting the owner of the footsteps in the back. Her arm found its way around the door and to the nice crook in the guards body, that meant a throat. She held him thus - on the other side of the door, blunt metal pinning him to it - and waited for the air in his/her lungs to desert him.

She felt the guard fall, unconscious at last, and pushed the door the rest of the way open, sliding the person out of the way as they dashed up the stairs.

"Now, that was fancy," he commented as they ran up, laughing slightly. Somehow, he was really enjoying this mission even if it's a rather close call for some piece of paper.

They reached the next floor, looking normal, no one suspicious. "Good, we're still safe here, maybe." He looked at her knowingly and nodded at her. Walking casually, he headed towards the left wing. There were still a lot of people around though and he didn't want to have to knock out everyone just so they can go in the surveillance room.

She composed herself very quickly (It wouldn't do for a janitor - one that hadn't been running around, beating people up - to be out of breath), and followed 'Mikel's' lead, once again.

As much of a pain as this would have normally been, she found that this time, it wasn't. Refusing to let her mind wander, she focused her attention on looking for the door that blended in.

Zane, still unsure of how to get in without becoming too suspicious. He fell in step with Sam and nudged her. "Penny for your thoughts?"

A janitor then passed them, with food on a tray. He gestured for Sam to wait and called the janitor and they went in a small room.

After a few minutes, he walked out alone with the tray of food and a key. He tossed the key towards Dwyrin.

"My thoughts?? Well," she said slyly, "some of them will cost you far more than a penny."

Before she'd had the chance to articulate, opportunity had presented itself and Zane took it. Passing her the key - with a triumphant smirk, of couse - he started walking with the tray and she followed.

Dwyrin resumed the conversation as if it had never been cut off. "But some of them are cheap enough. For example: if the door is blended well enought to look seamless, it would almost have be with the help of alchemy, yes?? But through the whole time we've been here, I haven't even caught a hint of it. Do you think that's strange??"

"First, you're unoriginal," he smirked. "Second," he held the tray with one hand, playing with it. "You're right. I haven't seen a thing. So what do you propose to do?"

"Perhaps. But at least admit ~ I'm so good at it." She stretched her arms above her head and then placed them together behind it, in a mock gesture of aloof relaxation. "I don't propose we do anything. I was just thinking it might make things easier," she said in the same light tone.

He smirked. "Won't deny that," he said. Then they walked towards the part where the door should be - wherever in that wall anyway.

"Well, we have the key, as a start," he said. "Now we need to find the door."

"That's the fun part, ya know??" She took tha L-shaped hunk of metal and tapped on a few spots on the wall were the door might be. After one particular tap, she stopped and put away the metal. "Amateurs. They could have at least made it harder than that. The door's right here." She pointed to the spot on the wall near where she stood.

He nodded, glad that she was there for things like that. "All right, great job," he said. Looking at her, he continued. "Well, you've got the key. Go for it."

"Do you see a keyhole?!" she shot over her shoulder, running her hands along the section she thought was the door.

The time this was taking was bothersome and she considered just busting through. But that might attract attention with the undue noise. Patience with this door issue running thin, she was suprised when she heard footsteps. It was undoubtedly just someone that worked here, but she couldn't be caught feeling-up the wall. "Any ideas??" she practically whispered to Zane.

Zane backed off the wall and let whoever came walk by and out of the picture before turning his attention to Dwyrin. "Not really, just winging it," he replied, ruffling his own hair.

He placed his hand on the wall for support, only for it to push down a bit and a keyhole appeared near Dwyrin. "Well... wow?"

"Huh, look at that," she said smiling. "What would I have done without you??" The camo-door problem had been easily solved but a pressure plate wouldn't have been something she would have though to try, herself.

Opening the door revealed various electronic devices that Dwyrin had no name for, along with more familiar pieces of surveillance equipment. The large room was almost otherwise bare, holding only a few chairs and a side table. Is it strange that no one is occupying those chairs??

"I hope this is within your area of expertise," she whispered to Zane as she closed the door behind them.

He looked around before turning to her. "Ah, it's suspicious. Why aren't there anyone in here?"

Zane smiled slightly. "I can't say I'm exactly an expert, but I think I can work my way around these devices."

"Perhaps they're out in the hallways hunting us down," she said to him half-jokingly. "Or maybe we're lucky and they fell down that elevator shaft."

She watched Zane as he moved about the small, dim room. "Good thing," she mumbled more to herself. Electronics went nicely along with swimming - not her strong point. She knew what metals conducted electricity well, and how to transmute them and that was about it.

He smiled. "Perhaps. That'd make my day."

Zane walked around and looked at the main computer. "Hm..." A few typing and soon he was absorbed, somehow.

"It's rather complicated," he admitted. "Firewall's really hard to crack. Aside from that, we need a card key to shut down the system."

Dwyrin watched as Zane muttered to himself. Hisis fingers flew across the keyboards and switchboards in what she could only trust was the right pattern. Ater a few moments of this the lights shut off - along with anything else in the room that was powered by electricity.

"Was that supposed to happen??" she whispered into the darkness.

He stopped and stared at the darkness for a second before replying.

"No..." he leaned back. "No, that wasn't supposed to happen. What the hell..."

There was no light source in here to provide the eyes with something to adjust to; there were no windows. She couldn't make out her hand when it was four inches in front of her face. The uncertainty of the darkness made her want to reach out to the machines beside her and to Zane to make sure they were all still where they were a moment ago.

"Although I suppose this cuts out the need to shut everything off, do you have a match or something?? I have no idea how we're supposed to open that door from in here..."

Zane pulled back his hand and grabbed the air, hoping to find Dwyrin.

"Yes, but it's suspicious," he said, squinting. It was really pitch black. "And no, I've got no light on me, unfortunately."

It felt as if they were in a trap of some sort. It couldn't have been just pure luck on their side.

"What do you think happened?'

"I'll tell you what happened!" an amplified voice exclaimed. "You were set up!"

The lights flashed back on, dazzling the eyes for a second. Before Dwyrin knew what was happening, the three walls without the door fell away - There's that alchemy that seemed lacking! - and they were surrounded by a solid line of uniformed people pointing various projectile weapons at them.

She looked over at Zane and then it hit her - Set up?! She couldn't help the tide of betrayal that flooded her mind. Had they both been set-up or was she alone in this?? Reluctantly, she put her hands in the air.

When he heard the words "set up", he instantly looked at Dwyrin then to the uniformed men.

He didn't worry about them being surrounded by these people with weapons but he did worry about what Dwyrin was thinking at the moment. The last thing he would put himself in trouble would be betrayal. That's too big of a burden to hassle himself with.

As she placed her hands in the air, so did he. Maybe she had a plan. Maybe things would be fine if they went along for now.

It occurred to him that maybe he should say something but a harsh poke in the back by a weapon killed his train of thought.

As Dwyrin's thought swirled she tried to keep her face a mask of calm. Which was ridiculous, she thought. Who would be unworried in this sort of situation?? But it kept her from exposing her suspicion and sudden discomfort.

From behind, she and Zane were roughly shoved face-first against the remaining wall and, turning her head, she had a moment to get a clear look at her companion. He also looked unnaturally placid, but some of the color had left his skin and his pupils were dialated. He was alert. Which hopefully means he wasn't expecting this, either.

Her arms were wrestled behind her back and she heard a metal clinking noise as something closed about her wrists. Metal. Good. She would have smiled if the situation hadn't been serious. After a thorough pat-down (which left her with none of the handy objects she had come in with) they pulled her off the wall.

This time she did smile. They had left her ring.

All the while, he was thinking on what to do. Obviously, going against them all right now when Dwyrin might actually believe he set her up wouldn't go so well.

When he looked at her, feeling his hands being handcuffed behind him, he saw her smiling. This was a surprise to him but he managed to keep a straight face. There was no use in showing any reactions to these people and give them pleasure out of it.

He smirked to himself, in the end. He wanted to see what she has planned.
