History:After waking up in a house belonging to some miners, Kotaro realised he had no idea who he was. The only clue was that he knew alchemy and carried a metal staff with the inscription Godai. After showing skills in combat, Kotaro became a all around Mercenary, taking jobs from body guarding to assassination. His only failed mission was when he was hired to kill a retired soldier. Before he could finish him, another man calling himself Motaro killed him. Appearing to know Kotaro, Motaro escaped while only giving Kotaro a scar over his eye. He now lives in central, taking jobs from the military in return for information, and the rebbelion in secret. His main goal is to find out who he was before the mining town, and to find Motaro.

After killing Motaro who had began to reveal Kotaro's missing past, Kotaro quit being a mercenary in hope that he would live in his parents cottage peacefully . (Motaro gave him the location.) After finding out of his military background from an old colonol who he had worked under, Kotaro began to search the military for clue's to his past. Upon learning of a lab where he had been while in the military, Kotaro traveled there to find it abandoned but with many leftover equipment, Kotarofound a data file showing his origin.

Kotaro had been a soldier in the military during the Ishvalan uprising. A state alchemist called the lightnings pain alchemist and leader of a small team of men. On a mission to destroy an ammunition depot, Kotaro was shot by his own men and brought to the research lab watched over by colonol Garsher. His body was then used in an experimental cloning process. This wasn't used with alchemy because that was human transmutation. After some time they managed to clone actual duplicates of Kotaro's body. However, they were empty shells and were just sacks of flesh.after some more years, they managed to attach the soul of the original Kotaro to one of the bodies. Although a success, the body still was unresponsive and disposed of in a mining town, where Kotaro woke up. His memory had been erased but had recovered over time.

With the revalation that he was a military experiment, Kotaro became obsessed with hunting down and killing Garsher. After accomplishing the task, Kotaro became wanted by the military and was hunted. After a friend helped him escape the military, he changed his appearance and name to Dante. However, the death of his last living family member caused him to give himself back to the military hoping he would be sent to his death. Instead, he was offered his old state alchemist position and promoted. Accepting this, Kotaro returned as the lightnings pain alchemist.
Other:Has an adopted 15 year old son who he found on the streets named Zero. Zero was killed attempting to saveKotaro from a military prison. Kotaro has also befriended a chimera named Kiara, who appears in the form of a black cat with a green left eye and blue right eye.
