Aaron Myester Empty Aaron Myester

AA Username: Frog Dragon
Picture:
Name: Aaron Myester
Alias/Nicknames: Scroll Alchemist
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Weight: 73kg
Height: 176cm
Hair: Black
Eyes: Steel blue/gray
Race: Amestrian
Alliance: Resistance
Job: Medic, Research/Intelligence, Former IMP hospitals worker, then administrator (resigned).
Power/Weapon: Human Alkahestry. Aaron uses alkahestry principles in his craft, and has become very familiar with human anatomy, medical science and the workings of the human body. However, that is not where his skill ends. He also knows the workings of a human soul, and how to perform alkahestry on one. His skills allow for extensive medical alchemy, as long as the tissue is just damaged and not gone (He could heal a deep slash wound, but not regrow a severed arm). However, by using someone's soul or life as the price for alchemy, he could recover truly lost body parts.

This same skill lets him damage people as well, transmuting their organs into inviable forms. Finally, his ability to transmute the soul of a living being is his most baneful power. He typically uses this ability to drain away the soul of his enemy in exchange for expanding their tissues, constricting their nervous system and blood flow while doubly ensuring their death by exchanging away their soul. However, due to the unrefined nature of this energy, he can only use it for his area of expertise, A.K.A, molding human bodies. In addition, skilled alchemists with experience with philosopher's stones or human transmutation may be able to control their soul more readily and thus deny Aaron the chance to manipulate it with Alkahestry.

His more advanced transmutations require complicated circles, which he keeps inscribed on scrolls, earning him his moniker. All of his alkahestry requires touch.

He also has a standard handgun and a custom built wheelchair with a gas motor capable of (safely) propelling the wheelchair to around 50km/h. Otherwise, he can wheel it around with his arms.

Personality: Aaron is a helpful and kind soul, with a very active streak. He is not content to simply wish people well, he feels the need to do something to make that happen. He is also an inquisitive person with a will to learn, even in his forties. He is also rather clever and open-minded.

Despite the wrongdoing he has seen in his life and the extremes one must go to protect the world they see as good, Aaron still views killing as a necessary evil at best, even in defense of a just cause. However, it is an evil he has had to partake in. He also has a bit of a sarcastic streak, despite his general kindness. However, he is fundamentally a good man.

He doesn't let his lower-body paralyzation bother him much, and although he could fix his nervous system by shortening his lifespan, he would rather live longer.

Physical Description: This man sits in a steel wheelchair with sturdier wheels than normal and mounted with a gas motor on the underside. He wears light brown pants and a shirt with long white coat over it, resembling a lab coat. His shoes are dark leather.

He looks to be average in height and weight, and his face looks his age. He has sharp, steel blue eyes and grayish black hair, cut short despite its thickness, only partially covering his ears. His face is already slightly wrinkled, but he nevertheless maintains a smile.

History:
Long version:

TL;DR version:

Other: He has a good relationship with his parents, Richard and Catherine Myester. He still keeps contact with Travis Hangman, the current head of the IMP, who has been his friend since his teen years. The IMP as a whole trusts him, and he has friends among the Ishvalans. He is also a dedicated resistance member.

Hmm, I'm not so sure about the 'draining someone else's soul' thing. Other than that it sounds good.

Hmm... I want to approve this, but I agree with Sam. There should probably be a way to negate/limit/disrupt that skill (assuming the victim/random passerby/whatever knows their stuff). It's pretty close to god-modding the way it's been explained here.

All of his alkahestry is touch-range (which I just clarified in the sheet). It also only allows him to do alkahestry within his area of expertise.

As for its offensive power, it's mostly just 100% certain, and not much worse than Scar's destruction alchemy. Both completely end you if you get within touch range. The difference is that Scar is a warrior monk and Aaron is a paraplegic who only does moderate exercise with his working body parts.

The difference is mostly that soul-draining negates any chance of a "last breath" move. While if you twist someone's heart valves into a knot, they might get a few seconds of action before they go down from lack of oxygen. However, with soul-draining, their life ends immediately.

I don't really see the problem.

That's exactly the problem. There's no chance to live. Say you got into a fight - how can anyone defend against that??
Not only that but the price of human alchemy with no philosophers stone must come from oneself, not from others.

...Not get touched by a dude in a wheelchair? Of course, I could try to logic up some counter, like how Scar's alchemy was countered by Ed on a guess.

I have several instances in the manga/brotherhood on which I am basing this on, though none match exactly.

1. Ed healing himself/May Chan healing others. Demonstrating that not all alchemy or alkahestry is human transmutation in the sense that Truth shows up to eat your limbs. It also shows that souls behave like philosopher's stones for the purposes of energy.
2. Marcoh's stunt vs Envy. He performed transmutation on Envy's core, his philosopher's stone, which were effectively his souls. He wasn't touching the stone, being in contact with the vessel of the souls (Envy) was enough. Ed did the same thing, again with Envy (though Envy voluntarily surrendered his stone there, so not sure if it applies).

Hohenheim also demonstrated that the souls effectively still have their identities, further eroding any practical difference between a soul in a stone and a soul in a body.

In writing this, I thought of a counter for the move, based on the Ed - Pride fight. Edited.

Hm... It is a very well thought out skill and I applaud you there.

Alright, I think I'll go ahead and approve this under the condition that you don't run around killing people or easily winning every fight the moment the enemy touches you. (That's probably really obvious but you never know. Razz )
